Here we are! This new section of the website will explain how i finally decided to make the cubes; I've tried a lot of solution with different wood, different kinds of black...
The biggest problem is that i must ship them and so i had to try the best way to make the cube arrive safely to your home.
I've finally decided to rent a workshop to make cubes.
I will use the workshop also to make music, as I am a sound tecnician and, as i said a lot of times, my other passion is music: I hope the cubes will help me to make my recording studio.
I will post photos of the studio in the next months on the site.
So let me explain the process I use to make the cubes. The first thing is obviously the wood, that is cut as you can see in the next image:

Then i have to use the glue for wood to assemble the 6 facet, which are now the same; the first cubes i made had different facets with different dimension, with rectangular border.
Now, as you can see, the borders are cutted at 45 degrees: it's more difficult to make the cubes and also more expensive, but the result is really better and this is what i want.

I obviously can't post a photo of the next stages!

Then with some nails (totally 12) and a hammer i definitely close the cube:
now to be opened it must be destroyed!
The wood isn't always precise, so i have to use some plaster to make the cubes really closed, without any slit.

I have now to use the sand paper and a belt sander to remove the plaster. The cube is now ready to be painted!
No, i have forgotten an important thing: the number! I use this tool to make it

Then i have to paint them

Every cube is completely painted in 4 times, and every step has a distance between the other of minimum 24 hours; first i paint all the faces except the bottom one; the i use the sand paper and repeat this step;
then I turn the cube and paint the facet that isn't painted; then i use the sand paper on this facet and paint it again.
The cubes are now finished!

Cleaning the cubes is important! I think you can find some of my fingerprint on the cube: don't give them to the police!

I have now to package the cubes; this is the way I close them:

I' tried to smile while making this photo but the result isn't very beautiful...
